So, if you want to have a different header and footer on your Google Docs, you have to do that manually, and in this case, you will need to use Section Breaks.

What is Section Breaks?

When you create a document in Google Docs, all the pages will use the same formatting such as headers, footers, page numbers, margins, etc.
And what if you want to divide your document into sections?

Well, the answer is, Section Breaks. wow very unpredictable.

If you use Section Breaks, each and every section will behave as an independent document, including the formatting, so you could change the header, footer, numbering, etc in one section without affecting others.

If you scroll up you will see that the header and footer are different from the page above, but if you scroll down, they are still the same, why? because you haven't change them yet.

Yes, you will have to repeat the steps for all the pages if you want each page to have a different header or footer.

Looks tiring? yes, it is, but because typically a different header or footer is used for different chapters and since each chapter usually has numerous pages, you will have to do this after a bunch of pages, not after one another.

View and Delete Sections Breaks.

Let's say that you can't see the section break line after you add it, or you add it in the wrong place, then you might want to view the sections breaks or deleted the one that you placed wrong.

No More Sections Breaks!

As mentioned above, there isn't a dedicated feature to make different headers and footers on Google Docs, and even though the method showed here looks tiring because you have to do it over and over for every page you want to different, its actually the best choice you have.

And we could only hope that Google will add this feature in the future.
